According Secretary General Wilson, the strike will be averted if the government fail to meet their grievances.

The Teachers Union is demanding the Ministry of Education to terminate the policy of delocalization of teachers, quash the implementation of Teacher Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) and embrace promotion of teachers to higher job groups.

Sossion has accused Teachers Service Commission Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia of failing to honor their demands despite their past agreements with the commission.

“Teachers were employed to deliver to the students not to spend most of their time allocated for class lessons in cyber cafes filling the appraisal forms,” added Sossion.
