The Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary General Wilson Sossion has said that the decision by former Bomet governor Isaac Ruto to join the Jubilee Party will not in any way influence his stance.
Sossion said he will remain a staunch member of the ODM party regardless of the political waves in the Rift Valley.
He re-affirmed his support for Raila Odinga ahead of the repeat elections and added that he does not plan to change ship in the near future.
"I am a firm member of ODM and will not shift to any other party anytime soon," the nominated MP added.
Sossion's talk comes just days after the former Bomet county boss ditched NASA saying he felt political loneliness while there.
"I felt lonely. I found myself alone and I have now decided to come back. Uhuru and Ruto talked to me into coming back," Ruto said on Friday and added that he will be campaigning for the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of October 17.
Apart from Sossion, other NASA supporters from the Rift Valley have strongly criticised Ruto and termed his move as a show of cowardice.
"He(Rutto) lost the election to Joyce Laboso but he had kept his reputation and a national image. Now he has lost it all," said Samoei Bii who previously served as communication officer and adviser to the former governor.
"He is simply joining Jubilee as a form of penance for his misdeeds in the county while Ngeno is joining Jubilee to save himself from an election petition," he said.
"Soldiers prove their mettle in war; not pacifying the enemy....out of hunger, the worms devoured his principles. He is now hollow," Bii added.
