Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary General Francis Sossion has maintained that he will not resign despite being proposed by ODM to join parliament.
Sossion is on the nomination list presented by ODM.
Speaking on Thursday, Sossion stated that he will continue serving as secretary-general as the Trade Unions Congress of Kenya, which proposed his nomination, defended the decision.
“I will carry the spirit of workers to the floor of the House without any fear. What has been done is for the best interest of workers,” Mr Sossion said in Nairobi on Wednesday.
“I am not contesting any seat but I have just been nominated. For that reason I will not resign. I will represent a special interest group, which is workers,” he said.
