Trade Union Congress of Kenya (TUC-K)Secretary General Wilson Sossion has presented fresh demands to the government over the stalled CBA agreement it signed with lecturers that have brought paralysis to public universities across the country.
Addressing a press conference earlier Wednesday, Sossion said the government must honor the 2013 agreement it signed with University Academic Staff Union (Uasu)in totality if lecturers are to resume classes anytime soon.
"The government must now implement the 2013 CBA agreement in full if they want this strike to end, otherwise they should brace themselves for a battle," he said.
He further blasted the Jubilee government saying they were not committed to addressing labour matters in the country and cited the ongoing nurses strike that has now entered its third week.
"This government has proved that they are not committed to addressing labour matters in the country. It does not respect it's workforce," he added.
The KNUT secretary general further called upon members of Uasu not to give up their fight for the implementation of the 2013 agreement.
