Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General, Wilson Sossion said all teachers will receive a salary increment before the 2017 polls.
Speaking Friday in Sotik, Sossion said deliberations on the new pay were ongoing and the deal will be unveiled soon.
“We are in talks with Teachers Service Commission and the deal is good for the teachers. It will end the strikes for the next 4 years," he said.
Sossion's announcement comes barely weeks after the tutors signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with their employer during the head of schools confrence in Mombasa last month.
