Saying this is a do or die year for teachers, Obungu warned KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion of either being firm or risk being sent home.

Obungu who led the teachers’ demonstration in Ahero, Masogo and Ombeyi centers told the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to table their return to work formula if they must get back to work.

“We will not be moved by the threats directed to us by the government forcing us to go back to class without them responding to our needs in full,” said Obungu.

He said teachers have for a long time been taken for a ride by the government with empty promises.

“We are telling our national leaders that they must stand on their ground,” said Obungu.
