Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) secretary general Wilson Sossion has warned the government that his union will not back the new curriculum system if it is implemented wrongly. The KNUT boss noted that all stakeholders should have been consulted before the roll out exercise kicked off since the implementation of the curriculum is delicate. The ODM nominated MP now wants President Uhuru Kenyatta's government to involve external evaluators in assessment of the new curriculum ahead of irs official roll out slated for January."Global stands require any government to invite an external evaluator to assess the new curriculum and give their recommendations so we can know if we are ready to roll out the curriculum," said Sossion as reported by The Star."We are not opposed to the curriculum, but we are saying the government should not make haste in its implementation or we end up messing it. The competency based curriculum failed in Malaysia and South Africa, so lets not put ourselves in a tight spot," the vocal secretary general added.
