Arabian retailer Souk Bazaar has announced that it will be opening an outlet at the NextGen Mall situated along Mombasa Road.
The supermarket is expected to open officially this Sunday.
According to NextGen Mall manager Navin Shah business at the mall has not been as lively due to the prolonged election period.
“With all the politicking you expect a lot of anxiety. It is the first time in Kenya a mall is being sold to business people to put up offices and shops,” says Shah.
Shah added that anyone interested would only have to pay 10 per cent of the actual purchase while they pay off the rest in installments.
The supermarket will be targeting customers in South B, South C, and Diamond Park estates.
“This will no doubt give the mall a bounce,” says Shah. “It will be the second biggest shopping space after Carrerfour at Two Rivers.”
The announcement comes just after Nakumatt Supermarket exited the mall. The company is reportedly suffering from several debts thus causing the closure of several outlets across the country.
