President Uhuru Kenyatta. [Photo/Daily Nation]Professionals from South Mugirango constituency in Kisii County have asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to give more cabinet and Permanent secretaries' posts to the community.
The professionals lead by their chairman Mose Okerosi on Wednesday claimed that the Gusii community has been ignored for long and it is time for the community to be given top priority in government.
Okerosi said the region has good leaders like Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i who should work to bring development in the country but the number of those serving in government is low.
“The Gusii community supported Jubilee government and we are happy UhuRuto won the presidency. We are calling on the two leaders to consider giving the Gusii community more Cabinet posts and Permanent secretaries,” he noted.
He said if the community will not be considered, in 2022 the region won’t support Jubilee.
Okerosi called on elected leaders in the county to unite for the sake of peace and development in Nyamira and Kisii Counties.
