Speaking at Nduru Girls, aspiring MP Silvanus Osoro said the program will equip computer laboratories and pave the way for promoting computer literacy in the region.

“I have started a program that will see all our secondary schools receive computers because most schools are now connected with electricity," said Osoro.

"We want to see computer literacy embraced since technology is being embraced everywhere,” he said.

Osoro asked schools principals from the region to apply for recruitment of computer teachers from Teachers Service Commission to make the exercise fruitful.

“Technology is ever dynamic and we must also not be left behind," he said.

"We have to move with the rest of the world and it’s my challenge to principles to facilitate recruitment of computer literate teachers,” he added.

"Most of our students are exposed to computers systems at tertiary education level which to me is a bit awkward. We have to support technological advancement in our secondary schools early enough," said Osoro.

"Ultimately, we want to see our teachers adopting online learning and video conferencing as a way of disseminating knowledge,” he said.

Osoro also promised to connect the institutions with network providers to boost research in the secondary schools.

"I will ensure that all these institutions are connected with internet providers so that our children and teachers can invest more on research rather than being prepared for white collar jobs," said the aspirant.

"They can learn entrepreneurship at a tender age through online researches,” added the youthful aspirant.
