Students studying in various secondary schools, universities and colleges in South Mugirango constituency on Monday received over Sh21 million in CDF bursary.

Speaking during the issuance of the cheques to the beneficiaries at Nyamarambe, area MP Silvanus Osoro said he is committed to ensure youths from the area get a better education to better their future.

“I have prioritized education in my constituency because it is through education we can get good future leaders, doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers and professors. 

"No applicant was locked out and I will push the government to give more funds so that we can improve education levels in the region,” he said. 

He challenged his political rivals to follow his footsteps and help him in delivering quality services to the locals because prolonged hatred and divisive politics will derail development in the area. 

The lawmaker challenged parents not to allow their children to stay at home during school time because they will ruin their future lives. 

Students who will not make it to universities and middle-level colleges, he said, should enroll in local polytechnics to acquire skills in technical courses.
