With much party focus shifting to the Nairobi gubernatorial race, NASA and Jubilee Party have now formed campaign teams for their candidates Evans Kidero and Mike Sonko respectively.
The two giant political outfits are currently said to be working on strict plans and strategies to outsmart each other in the capital.
According to the Star, campaigns for Nairobi will be managed from respective party headquarters with special teams already assembled to oversee the campaigns.
On Saturday, Nairobi ODM chairman George Aladwa revealed that Kidero campaign will be managed by a special team at Orange House.
“This is now a party affair because as a party we cannot take chances. It has become a matter of life and death,” he said.
“We are going to meet as a party, and specifically the Nairobi branch, and decide on a team that should lead Kidero’s campaign.”
On the other hand, Deputy President William Ruto has taken it his affair to oversee campaigns that will ensure Jubilee candidates Mike Sonko and Polycarp Igathe win on August 8.
Last week, Ruto endorsed Sonko and Igathe and pledged to ensure the seat is taken by the ruling party.
