Nyamira deputy Speaker Andrew Magangi has told social media users to go slow on the Sh63 million report which claims MCAs used on tea and snacks.
Speaking to this writer on the phone Tuesday, Magangi said the county assembly only spend Sh14 million and it was not only for refreshment but also for board meetings, conferences, seminars and other related matters.
"Am asking our youth to go slow on this. Let them get facts right, as the assembly which consists of 33 members only used Sh14.04 million for board meetings, conferences, seminars and catering services. Let's not capitalise on matters which have been misreported," said Magangi.
The speaker said the said Sh63 million has no basis and blames the author for misleading the electorate.
"I don't know where the reporter got this figures because it's not featuring anywhere in our records, let the public not believe every report that is published by the media and journalists too need to seek facts before publishing such reports because they do more harm than helping residents," said Magangi.
