Nakuru county assembly Speaker Joel Kairu on Wednesday forced county assembly members to apologize for rejecting plastic chairs and demanding executive ones.
In his ruling delivered during the Wednesday morning session, Kairu said the MCAs behavior of conducting business while standing and dumping chairs in the chambers corner was uncalled for and a total contravention of the integrity act of the constitution as well as the county assembly privileges act.
He said it was wrong for members to disrupt assembly proceedings by removing chairs from the chamber.
Kairu said that members ought to have used the right channels to air their grievances.
Members put to task included minority leader Peter Palanga, MCA’s Eddy Kiragu, Peter Wanyaguthie, Paul Langat and George Machoka.
