Speaking on Monday in Kilifi, the speaker, who also chairs the County Committee on General Oversight, said the move aims at making the probe into the matter independent, and free from any public interference.

"I shall be the only one speaking on behalf of the MCAs," he said.

Kahindi said since the revelation of the corruption claims, the leadership of governor Amason Kingi has been painted in bad light, adding that his committee has since summoned four senior officials for investigations.

"They shall summon the IFMIS director, Central Bank officials and branch managers of the banks that conducted the transactions," he said.
