National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has called on political parties to adhere to the provisions of the Elections Act in conducting their nominations.

Muturi regretted that parties are blatantly ignoring the provisions of the constitution and the IEBC act in conducting their nominations.

Speaker Muturi who was speaking in Embu called on political parties in the country to instill internal democracy in their ongoing and upcoming primaries.

He condemned what he termed as cases of blatant violation of the laws by the Orange Democratic movement while conducting its primaries in Busia and Kakamega counties.

Jubilee leaders accompanying Speaker Muturi further accused the Orange party of thriving in violence while denying women the rightful place in leadership.

Jubilee will hold its nominations from Friday, April 21.
