Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Alex Ole Magelo has maintained that he will be vying for the Kajiado West Parliamentary seat.
Speaking on Thursday in Kiserian, Magelo accused his political competitors of spreading propaganda that he was set to retire from politics after the August polls.
"I want to tell you today that I am firmly in therace and those spreading rumours and lies should better know that I am in the race. People of Kajiado West are in my heart,” he said.
Magelo further challenged Kajiado residents to enlist as voters in the ongoing mass voter registration exercise that is set to conclude on February 14.
"We need development in Kajiado West and thatcan only be realized if you register in large numbers and vote out leaders who have let you down,” he noted.
He vied unsuccessfully for the same seat during the 2013 general elections, losing out to Jubilee's Moses Ole Sakuda.
It is yet unclear on which Party ticket the Speaker will be vying on.
