Nakuru County assembly Speaker Susan Kihika and majority leader Waithuki Njane have defended Governor Kinuthia Mbugua’s administration against abuse of office claims and funds misappropriation. The speaker lashed out at Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri and Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama for their numerous criticisms on the county leadership. The two urged them to concentrate on their roles in the national assembly. Kihika claimed that the two leaders who spearhead the launch of Okoa Nakuru campaign which is aimed at initiating a recall process of Governor Kinuthia Mbugua were insincere to Nakuru county resident. She said the endless quarrel pitting various leaders in the county was affecting development urging the leaders to unite and deliver pledges. She said the MPs were wasting time on petty politics urging them to account for CDF allocated to their constituencies before playing an oversight role over the county assembly and the executive. Similar sentiment were expressed by Nakuru county majority leader Waithuki Njane who said county staffs were hired in a free and fair exercise in respect of the provisions of the public service hiring. Waithuki urged the MPs to table documents and all necessary evidence to justify the alleged misuse of funds by the county executive. The leaders were addressing congregation at Talent Church in Elburgon where they presided over a fundraiser to assist children's homes in the town.
