Nyamira County assembly speaker Mofat Teya has warned MCAs against engaging in acts of corruption in management of bursary funds.
Speaking in his office on Wednesday, Teya said that majority of the MCAs have misused the funds for self gain
“It has come to our attention that a few of the MCAs in the County have been able to release bursary funds while others cant account for the same.
"I am going to push various house committees as well as EACC to take action once finish compiling the list of wards that haven't been able to receive funds," he said.
Teya further pleaded with area County boss John Nyagarama to ensure that he cracks whip on those MCAs that have settled to ruin his final term in office.
“Let Nyagarama wake up and make a follow up on why the majority of students in the area haven't received bursaries from the County kitty as that will ruin his final term legacy while in office” said Teya
