Kisii County Assembly Speaker David Kombo has urged County MCAs to stop missing session in the House.
Kombo said a section of MCAs are lazy and have been skipping sessions in the House.
“Absenteeism of MCAs in the Assembly is worrying and may derail development in the county. The ward reps should stop abusing the mandate they were given by the electorates on August 8, 2017, and ensure they are attending sessions to participate in debates,” said Kombo.
According to the speaker, MCAs are concentrating much on personal businesses and have ignored the duties they were given by the people of Kisii County.
“I doubt if the MCAs will perform well because most of the days the MCAs are out of the County for personal businesses. I wish to advise the ward reps that failing to attend House sessions are risking their chances to retain their seats in 2022. It is time for the ward reps to be punctual attending House proceedings so that they can debate on motions which will bring development to the people of Kisii County,” said the speaker.
