Kisii county assembly education committee has been ordered to investigate why county polytechnic tutors want to strike and table the report over the matter in the assembly on Tuesday next week for a positive solution.
Bogeka ward member of county assembly Charles Nyagoro told the assembly on Thursday that he has received information that the tutors are planning to strike since some of them have not been confirmed permanently and others have never been paid their salaries for some months.
Speaking on Thursday in the assembly the speaker Okerosi Ondieki said the matter should get a positive solution before they strike and ordered the assembly education committee to investigate the matter since polytechnic students are expected to sit for their examinations at the end of this week.
“We don’t want our polytechnic students to suffer as they are going to do their examinations at the end of this month,” said Ondieki.
“I want the assembly education committee to investigate the matter for a positive solution from the county assembly by Tuesday next week,” he added.
