Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairperson John Mbadi has said that the party will offer direct nominations to special candidates who will vie for various elective seats during next year's general elections.
Speaking at the Orange House in Nairobi on June 11, Mbadi revealed that the move will ensure ODM gets more elective posts as compared to the previous elections.
He also said that the party nominations will be conducted fairly in a democratic process which will take place in February and March next year.
Mbadi added that ODM will divide the nation into two zones A and B to smoothen the nomination of candidates at the grassroots level.
He said Zone A will be areas that the party has equal dominance with the opponents while Zone B will comprise of areas which the party enjoys full support.
"In Zone A, we will after doing an analysis appoint an individual who will be the party's flag bearer while in Zone B, each candidate will strive to get the party ticket in the nominations," said Mbadi.
The party chairman also said that the party had decided to do the nomination process early so as to solve nomination issues timely and also allow more time for presidential campaigns.
