The Makongeni police boss received a letter of transfer sending him to Kiambaa police post where he is supposed to commence his duty on Monday next while his fellow officers were sent to other parts of the country.

Speaking during a security meeting on Tuesday in Thika town, community chairman Charles Owila said that their aim is to recognise the efforts by the senior officer and his juniors in taming crimes in the area.

He said Sang has been working under challenges as the area had no police station and the construction of the new post has taken many years due to the insufficient funds.

Owila said that the group is ready to work with the new OCS and the officers who will be sent in the area and who are expected by this weekend.

“We are not choosy and we will work with any police officer that comes around to ensure the security of the people of Makongeni. He has done a good job and we are grateful though he has to depart,” Owila said.

The party is expected to be held in Makongeni chief’s camp with various security officers among them the security committee members expected to attend.
