November 20, 2017, will go into the annals of history as the day that the apex court in the land upheld the election of President Uhuru Kenyatta after nullifying it on September 1.
However, despite the mixed reactions experienced after the ruling across the country, it is now up to Uhuru to ensure he rolls up his sleeves and get to work.
Uhuru has to stand up against party politics and cut a profile of the father of the nation to ensure Kenyans from all corners of the country feel part and parcel of the republic.
A lot of serious problems face Kenya and the Uhuru in his second and final term must not be diverted by factionalism and other rivalries.
Two of the biggest wounds that Uhuru should see to it that they are healed is the ethnic division and state of the economy.
This cohesion can be achieved by ensuring cabinet and parastatal appointments are all inclusive
Every policy and initiative that Uhuru undertake should be calculated to unite Kenyans, not disunite them. This is the last term for the son of Jomo and we all hope that he is keen to leave a positive legacy as he takes his last bow in power.
