Nyando MP Fred Outa has paid tribute to those who were killed during the agitation for the removal of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Outa said IEBC is on its way out due to the stamina of supporters of ODM party who came out in large number to protest against their stay in office.
He said those who were injured and those who were killed by the police during the peaceful demonstrations are heroes.
“Their blood was not shed in vain, IEBC Commissioners are moving out and I want to pay tribute to those who in one way or the other ware affected by the demonstration,” he said.
The MP said their dedication has paid off as plans are underway to see off the IEBC Commissioners who stood their ground not to exit.
Speaking at Obwolo grounds in Kisumu East Constituency on Friday during the defection of Benson Adega from TNA to ODM, Outa said the voters’ register will be cleaned before the polls.
Adega on his part said he is back in ODM after frustrations in TNA party.
He said he regretted moving to the TNA party and promised to work hard towards the realization of Raila Odinga’s residency in 2017.
In 2013, Adega vied for Kisumu East Constituency seat on a TNA ticket.
The event was attended by Kisumu County ODM party chairman Prof Ayiecho Olweny who announced that the bona fide party chairman in Kisumu East is Robert Otuge.
Ayiecho said that there has been confusion following the ODM primary election and challenged those clinging on party positions to produce their certificate.
