North Rift Bodaboda Taxis Association Chairman Richard Mukhobero has urged the Uasin Gishu County government to speed up the process of constructing new sheds for operators.
Speaking to this writer on Friday, Mukhobero said that he was disappointed by the pace at which the construction of sheds, yet money was allocated for the project.
"In this financial year, the bodaboda sheds project was allocated Sh6 million, but since then nothing has been done. We have tried to reach Uasin Gishu officials who so far have given us empty promises," he said.
He says the sheds are meant to protect bodaboda operators from harsh sunlight, wind and rainfall while waiting for their customers.
Mukhobero also said the sheds will help in identifying members who work in a particular stage for easy follow-ups in case 0f insecurity incidents.
"I urge The Uasin Gishu county government to speed up the process before the El Nino rains start since we will really suffer because we lack places where we could park our bodabodas," he added.
