Area MCA Protus Moindi said parents should know after the Christmas holiday celebrations, pupils and students will be required in schools, with fees and other amenities.

"Overspending will get you into trouble in January when children will be going to school. Spend as you save school fees for the 2017 academic year,'' he said.

"Buying clothes, foods and other luxurious items will not be a reason for children to drop school in 2017 due to lack of fees. Parents should learn to spend wise and safe for next year school expenditure,'' Moindi added.

He stated that the bursary funds at the ward level would not cater to pay the whole fees for school going children from the ward.

"The County gives too little to support school going children as bursary. The little that bursary gives can't pay for the huge fees paid in schools. It is our hope that come 2017 the County will increase the bursary funds.''

He was speaking at Gesero area,  Friday.
