A survey report by Twaweza East Africa has disclosed that majority of Kenyans want the Dadaab refugee camp closed.
Kenya announced plans to close the complex, citing insecurity allegedly brought by Al-Shabaab militant group.
Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Nkaissery warned the camp would be closed by end of November 2016.
However the repatriation exercise was extended to May 2017 due to logistic issues and calls by the global rights groups.
According to the survey report dubbed 'The Roots of Radicalization', six in ten (64 per cent) of Kenyans are informed of the Country's decision to close the Garissa based complex which has been home to over 350,000 refugees, most of who are from Somalia.
Twaweza director John Mugo noted 80 per cent of the 64 per cent support the government's decision.
Of those interviewed, 20 per cent opposed the decision to close the world largest camp.
The findings are based on data collected from 1,801 respondents across the Country in August and September 2016.
