A new survey has shown that majority of Kenyans believe insecurity remains a major challenge in the country.
A report released by Twaweza, in a research brief titled Are we safe? Citizens’ views on safety and security in Kenya, shows that 44 per cent of Kenyans think the security situation in their area has remained the same over the past three months.
Four out of 10 citizens (38%), however feel that in the last three months, there has been improvement in the security situation in their area.
According to the report that was released on Tuesday, two out of 10 Kenyans (18%) said the security situation has gotten worse.
The survey, which was conducted between 15 August and September 6, 2016, by Sauti za Wananchi mobile phone survey, involved 1,801 participants from across Kenya.
