Learning is the permanent change in behavior due to interaction with the environment. Although students go to school, in some cases learning does not take place and greatly affects those sitting for their KCPE exams. Some effects are as follows, according to Uwezo Kenya reports:
The first effect is that it brings about the intention of exam cheating. When the pupils are about to sit for exams and have not learnt fully through the 8 years of primary education it brings about panic and desperation.
The students will want to do anything in order to pass and join high school, even cheating in their final primary education.
Another effect is the poor performance. Having to sit for an exam while not having full academic content on the subject matter leads to poor performance country wide which is a national tragedy. We get schools having a mean of less than 100 which is less than average.
Poor learning brings about panic for students sitting for the KCPE exams. It makes the students lose confidence in themselves since the students understands that they are not ready for the exams. With this panic during the exams, the students tend to forget whatever little they had learnt.
