There are two most common types of cuddling; spooning and forking. Spooning is whereby one partner lays vertically behind the other; butt to back. The person inside is usually referred to as the small spoon and the one on the outside is known as the big spoon. This position enables you to feel closer to your partner as you can feel him/her breathing on your neck and his/her heart beating on you back.

However, like everything else it has its cons. First, it is a tricky position to fall asleep in as your partner's hair will be on your face. Secondly, if the big spoon snores while sleeping trust me you will have one of the longest nights ever.

Forking, on the other hand, is when a couple lies horizontally and their legs are entangled in each other. This position derives its name from the image two forks portray when they are put together. It is considered to be sexually erotic since your partner's genital is on your thigh. Just like spooning, the two lovebirds are able to feel each others breathing and it mostly ends up in intercourse.

The problem with forking is that it can be tiresome and uncomfortable especially to people with boundaries issues. Another disadvantage is that if you fall asleep in that position aching arms by morning are guaranteed. Moreover, it is the most intimate since it brings the two closer.

So which one is more comfortable to you?
