The current sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Mohamed Echesa has warned western Kenya leader against taking their issues directly to the President and instead use him as an avenue to deliver their problems to the top leadership.
Speaking during his Homecoming Ceremony held on Saturday 3rd March 2018 at the Mumias Sports Complex grounds, the Cabinet Secretary stated said he is the link to the presidency.
"I have now been appointed to be the Cabinet Secretary for Sports and represent you up there, leaders should therefore stop taking their issues to the president directly and use me to convey them,"
Rashid Mohamed Echesa was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta as the Cabinet Secretary for Sports.
His appointment into cabinet generated heated debates all over the country as details emerged that he was a class seven drop out and thus did not have any academic papers.
He was however cleared by the parliamentary committee on appointments and voted into office by the Members of Parliament.
Other leaders who attended his homecoming ceremony includes Deputy President William Ruto, Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed, Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, House Majority Leader Aden Duale, Kakamega County Governor Wyclffe Oparanya and many others.
Visitors and locals were served to different types of meals in celebration of the the great appointment.
