Kenya’s ministry of sports has expressed its confidence that Confederations of African Football will not retract its rights to host the 2018 African Nations Championships (CHAN).

However, there has been a lot of worry as to whether the country would be prepared in time to host such a big tournament.

On Sunday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), canceled its inspection tour of Kenya in order to examine progress made ahead of next year’s tournament.

According to reports, the confederation plans to send an inspection team to Kenya before September 23.

Sports Principal Secretary, Peter Kaberia has assured Kenyans that despite the delays in preparations and progress, the ministry has learned a lot and will know how to handle any events that the country may host in the near future.

Kaberia spoke as the Ministry of Sports and Kenya Airways agreed to a one-year partnership deal that will see the airways become the official airline for all Kenyan teams travelling abroad.
