English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs manager Maurio Pochettino has revealed that Kenya midfield king pin Victor Mugubi Wanyama is doing well.
The coach said the Kenyan International is making some very good recovery, but fell short of confirming when the player will be available for selection.
Speaking to British press ahead of Spurs Champions League group clash with APOEL Nicosia on Wednesday night, the Argentine coach said he will continue assessing the former Celtic and Southampton player day by day, in the hope that he can return to training properly in the near future.
“I cannot say the time. He is doing well. We will assess day by day, week by week to see when he can join the group again and start training. Today I can’t say anything about the timing,” he said.
The Kenya National Soccer team captain suffered a knee injury in August this year.
He is expected to play an integral role in new Harambee Stars coach Paul Put squad, during 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers and 2022 world cup qualifiers.
