The Salary and Remuneration Commission has revised salaries of elected leaders.
According to chair Sarah Serem, the new salaries will see leaders get pay cuts. The pay cuts are meant to reduce the wage bill.
MCAs have also not been spared as they stand to see a significant reduction of their salaries.
The president's salary has been reduced from 1.6 million shillings to 1.4 million shillings.
The directive has been effected on claimable allowances allocated to MPs according to KTN news.
MCAs will now see their salaries reduced from 166,000 shillings to 144,735 shillings.
