Sofapaka tactician Sam Ssimbwa is set to exit the club for a return home to Ugandan Premier League side Vipers FC, latest reports indicate.

The veteran coach was instrumental in guiding Batoto Ba Mungu to a second finish in the recently concluded Kenya Premier League where he managed to chalk up 55 points in their 34 league appearances.

However, the no-nonsense Ugandan has continued to send mixed signals over his commitment to the 2009 champions and was inconspicuously absent in Sofapaka' last two matches with sources indicating that he was weighing his options.

However, according to Ugandan sports website, Swift sports,Ssimbwa is on the verge of taking over at Vipers.

"It has always been his desire to manage at home ,his track record and CV speaks for itself.Negotiations between him and the club are under advanced stages and he will be Vipers coach in afew days to come ",the website reports.

Ssimbwa's rich coaching history boasts of stints with clubs such as Tanzanian giants Simba Fc, Rwandese ATRACO and Ugandan side Express FC which he guided to league title in 2012.
