Nakuru County Government is set to redeploy its staff afresh after receiving the staff audit report launched by the Devolution CS Anne Waiguru last month.
This has been announced by the chairman of the staff audit board in the county, John Waithanje who says they will compare the report with a previous one before implementation.
“There is a staff audit that we had done involving about 1,750 people who were working with the former county councils. We are also waiting for the biometric staff registration report that is going on in the whole country so that we can use the two reports to establish where each staff should fit,” Waithaje said.
He said the staff will be redeployed based on their experience and proficiency.
At the same time, Waithanje appealed to all residents living in the county to be applying for jobs whenever they are advertised by the county government. He said this will ensure that there is a balance as the constitution requires.
“We are working very hard to be all inclusive because we do not want some people to feel left out. We are an equal opportunity board,” Waithanje said.
The Nakuru County government is estimated to have more than 5,000 former workers from the defunct Naivasha Municipal Council, Molo Town Council, Nakuru Municipal Council and Nakuru County Council.
