Business stakeholders in Mombasa are holding a three-day sensitization workshop on the significance of border points towards regional economic growth.
The workshop which is being held at the Kenya School of Revenue Administration Mombasa, aims at ironing out issues on border and customs points within the East African Community (EAC) member states.
Speaking during the workshop, EAC representative, Stephen Analo, noted that the single customs territory that is being implemented in Kenya will ease businesses since it will ensure the free flow of goods within the East African states.
"The single customs territory will enable the smooth flow of goods from one country to the other. Goods will be moving throughout the region without any hindrance,” said Analo.
He further urged the stakeholders to comply with the World Trade Organizations facilitation agreement so as to avoid been locked out of global trade activities.
