Stakeholders have met in Masinga to share and discuss their proposals for the 2015 - 2022 development and strategic plans.
Machakos County Executive for Urban Development Tabitha Mbungu was among other leaders who attended the meeting which was held at Masinga Social Hall on Thursday.
Sewage systems was one of the crucial issues that arose whereby the stakeholders complained of poor drainage systems and the water insufficiency in the area.
“We need a system whereby sewage will flow without many expenses like the one we have. We are forced to drain our sewage in the neighbouring sub-county, Yatta. The water has been a problem in this area for years and we have to get a permanent solution," Eliud Kiprono, a physical planner said.
Standard planning was also widely discussed whereby the stakeholders urged for the county government to ensure that development plans will not affect the future.
The issue of environmental conservation was also brought up by another stakeholder, Jacob Njeru, who urged the stakeholders to be the first to take the initiative.
Mbungu promised to present the proposals to the county government promising implementation.
