Tourism stakeholders on Thursday converged at an Eldoret hotel to deliberate on avenues that will aid propel tourism activities in the North Rift Economic Bloc (NOREB).
This comes even as NOREB is fixing its roots deeper on matters Tourism, a key sector that upon its realization will spur economic growth.
The delegation led by the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) emphasized on strengthening synergies and partnerships between the public and private sectors for effective and far-reaching positive performance, this basing on the region.
Giving an address to the delegates, County Executive in charge of Environment, Water, Tourism and Wildlife Management Mary Njogu called on the Tourism body, KTB, to market the North Rift region as it has vast experiences of Tourism sites that need to be fully utilized.
“I am so glad that KTB officers had an opportunity to sample our regions iconic attractions and I am optimistic that visitation to these attractions sites will increase as a result of the new strategic direction the board is taking in marketing the same,” said the CeC.
“…the forum today draws delegates from all counties in the NOREB region and provides a platform for diverse stakeholders to deliberate on the challenges impending competitiveness of the region’s tourism and inherent opportunities that we do not exploit,” she added.
The meeting that was organized by the KTB brought on board CeCs, COs and Directors hoteliers and tourism operators from NOREB counties.
