Education officers in Masaba North Sub-county have bemoaned a lack of means of transport to help them execute their duties across the region. This has seen various education stakeholders call on the government to provide the officers with transport facilities. Speaking during a meeting with teachers from the region in Rigoma, the Chief Guest at the function, Charles Mochama, said that there is need for the Education Officers to at least have one vehicle to facilitate their movement from one place to another. “This is the only sub-county without even a motorcycle for transport and I want to call on the management of the devolution funds not to forget these officers here and the national government too, for better service delivery,” said Mochama. He added that this will help the officers deliver efficiently throughout the sub county, a move that was backed by the Sub-county Director of Education, Evans Ogamba, noting that it was the only sub-county in Nyamira, which does not have a vehicle for transportation. Ogamba however thanked all the teachers for the good work they are doing in ensuring that the standards of education in the county go high.
