Harambee Stars is set to battle Zanzibar in the finals of this year’s Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.
The match, will mark the final of the 39th edition will be staged at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County from 3 pm, with many Kenyans anticipating an epic encounter.
The match will be their second meeting in less than a week, having battled to a barren draw in their group match early in the week.
The stars will be out to prove they are a stronger side in the region, having won the competition in 2015 on home soil.
Zanzibar Heroes on the other hand will be gunning for their first major title in 26 years, and will go into the match as underdogs.
The Paul Put-led charges will be under pressure to deliver on home soil, but will have the support they need from home fans to see off their opponents.
Harambee Stars won their first match of the group, seeing off Rwanda 2-0 in the opening fixture.
They settled to a draw against Zanzibar in their second tie. They needed an extra time goal to see off an improved Burundi side in the semi-final match, booking a date with Zanzibar.
The Heroes on the other hand have been the surprise package in this year’s tournament, notably seeing off favorites Uganda 2-1 in Kisumu to book a place in the finals.
