Speaking at Nyayo Gardens in Nakuru town, Nakuru Savvy-Tech Association CEO Edward Irungu said lack of stable Internet connection in the area was very disturbing to residents and potential investors.

“It’s quite encouraging for the governor’s effort in reviving the stalled project, since the success of transforming the town to a regional business hub rests on the penetration of free Internet,” said Irungu.

He further reiterated the importance of having good Internet supply, saying it is the only way to keep up with the latest technological developments.

“The world is heading to digitilisation and there is need to comply with the current technological trends to keep a breast with the rest,” said Irungu.

He further urged the county government to hasten the re-launch to enable online-based businesses to thrive.

“The academic institutions will be the prime beneficiaries of the project as getting information on quizzes, assignments, course work and expert answers will benefit students a lot,” added Irungu.

He further said that county development depends on rapid access of information from web-based sources.

The Internet project stalled after it faced network coverage hitches and erratic connections soon after it was flagged off.
