A showdown is looming in the Nakuru County Assembly after two of National Super Alliance (NASA) affiliate parties failed to agree over the minority leader's position.
Both ODM and ANC representatives are angling for the position with Olkaria Ward MCA Peter Wanjala (ANC) insisting he is the bonafide minority leader.
Coincidentally, his Kivumbini Ward counterpart Wilbur Onyango Amara has maintained that his ODM party had on Tuesday given him the greenlight to occupy the position following a meeting at The Stem hotel.
However, a group allied to Wanjala maintains that the MCA was given the coalition’s blessings before ODM wrote to the speaker to annul the decision.
The seat was previously held by ODM's Dan Ambale who failed to recapture his Kaptembwa seat during the August 8 general election.
