Kenyan star David Rudisha.[Photo/thestatesman.com]On Monday, renown athletes joined world record holder David Rudisha in mourning the death of his step-sister Harriet Namunyak Rudisha.
The late Namunyak, 24, died at her Oltanki home in Trans MaraWest, on November 26, 2017, after a long battle with lung cancer.
Rudisha eulogised his late sister as a cheerful person who never held grudges, passionate, kind, and loving.
"It is so sad that our beloved sister Harriet is no longer with us. What I would never forget about her is the fact that I never once disagreed with her during her entire life,” said Rudisha.
Among the notable athletes who were in attendance includes 800 meters Gold medalist Alfred Kirwa, World Youth Champion and Sprinter Alphas Kishoyian, Olympic and World Steeplechase Champion Conseslus Kipruto, World Youth 1500 meters Champion Isaac Kiprono Songok, 2008 Summer Olympics Gold medalist in 1500 meters Asbel Kiprop and Long distance runner and Gold medalist Elijah Manangoi.
Athletics Kenya President Lt. Gen. (rtd) Jackson Tuwei and National Olympics Committee of Kenya (Nock) President Paul Tergat also sent their condolences to the family of Rudisha.
