The Harambee starlets U -20 team left the country for Ghana ahead of their first leg match with their host the Black Princesses U- 20 teams at the Cape Coast stadium.
The team has been on a training camp in Machakos stadium under the stewardship of head coach Caroline Ajowi, who is very optimistic about her side edging out Ghana.
Caroline Ajowi named a strong side which will face their fancied opponents, who beat Algeria in the previous stage.
Starlets U - 20 made the second round of the qualifiers after beating Ethiopia in a 4-3 aggregate score-line in the previous round. the team came from 2 goals down in their first leg to draw 2 - 2. During the return leg in Kenyatta stadium, Machakos starlets won with a close margin of 2 - 1 to progress to the next round.
The team will miss the services of 7 key players due to school commitments. this is, Joy Kinglady, Sylvia Kapera, Stella Anyango, Diana Hashina, Harriet Nasambu, Beverlin Achieng and Linda Nyongesa.
The experienced Corazone Aquino will be relied on for goals as well as leadership as she wears the captain’s armband.
