He scored the lone goal to see Kenya through to the final [Photo/footballkenya.org]Kenyan soccer team Harambee Stars will be awarded sh6.5 million if they lift this year Cecafa Senior Challenge.Stars play Zanzibar Heroes in the final scheduled for Sunday at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos county.Speaking during an interview on the NTV's Top Sport on Saturday, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa said giant online betting company Sportpesa, have pledged to reward Harambee stars sh3 million of they lift the trophy."Two governors Mike Sonko (Nairobi) and Alfred Mutua (Machakos) have also pledged to give the team sh2 million if they best Zanzibar," Mwendwa said."With 37 individuals that constitute the team each of the will walk away with at least sh180,000 for the win," he added.The FKF President revealed that the team earned sh500,000 in bonuses after beating Burundi 1-0 after extra time in the semi finals to book a place in the finals.He expressed confidence that Harambee Stars who are yet to lose or concede a game in the tournament will lift the trophy."Zanzibar is a good side that plays a fantastic football but we need to beat such teams to know that we are making progress," Mwendwa said.
