In an interview on Radio Jambo Tuesday, the lawmaker observed that it is the best time for the nation to look into the recurrent claims of rigged polls.

He advised that the nation should embark on reconstituting the embattled Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to bring on board officials who are acceptable to all political players.

"This is the best time to prepare for the coming elections. We should use this time to recruit new election commissioners and have them approved by both sides of the political divide to avoid any mischief come 2022," he said.

The Orange Party lawmaker further discouraged continued politicking by a section of leaders, observing that they should now revert to serving Kenyans.

He stressed on the need for leaders to unite under the development initiative, in a bid to better the nation.

"It is sad that our country is always in a campaign mode. I urge our leaders to stop politicking as we have just concluded our elections and concentrate on development," he added.

This follows the opposition coalition, National Super Alliance (NASA) refusal to concede defeat in the last 2 presidential elections.

The former Prime Minister Raila Odinga-led side has maintained that it was rigged out in both the 2013 and August 8 2017 presidential races and is now advocating for electoral reforms.
