Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama wants the government to streamline security and deal with criminal gangs in the county.
Speaking to the press at Kaptembwa town on Sunday, the MP said it is the responsibility of the government to provide security.
Arama alleged that some areas in the constituency have seen rise in criminal activities, something that the government should take care of.
“I want to ask both the county and the national government to deal with criminals, criminal cases are on the rise, day in day out,” he said.
The lawmaker while condemning the brutal killing of Kabete MP George Muchai said there is need for continued security surveillance at all times.
Arama indicated that the killing of the MP must be investigated, perpetrators charged in court and evidence made public.
He also asked the Interior Ministry to coordinate security functions and help put an end to such brutal killings.
Arama at the same time asked the public to support police efforts in the fight against crime.
“The public must be ready and willing to work with security officers to tame crime,” he noted.
