Kalimoni Member of County Assembly (MCA) Joel Waichere wants the county and the national government to put in place strategies that will boost security.
Speaking when he visited Juja MCA Samuel Gitau at the Agha Khan Hospital on Tuesday, Waichere said that security is the most important responsibility of the government.
He indicated that the government has to invest in security machinery that will guarantee safety of Kenyans.
“Our government must know that security is crucial for development and put in place proper measures,” he said.
The MCA also urged the Kiambu government to work closely with security agencies and wipe out crime in the region.
He observed that crime has risen in some parts of the county and appealed for deployment of more officers.
The MCA on the same note called on area leaders to work together and help address instances of crime.
He indicated that through proper legislation and policy making, insecurity will be a thing of the past.
Juja MCA who went missing a week ago was found alive on Monday in Naivasha. The MCA was weak and unconscious is recovering at the hospital.
Police say he will record statements once discharged from the hospital.
